All of our boats are constructed of 100% hand-laid fiberglass, with no wood to rot or maintain. Durable, molded-in gel colours mean you won’t ever have to worry about repainting. These are boats that you can depend on, and enjoy using, not spend your precious weekends fixing!
Superior Construction
We utilize 3-piece construction for the majority of our boats. A molded fiberglass liner means the interior of the boat is just as durable and maintenance free as the exterior! Foam is injected between the two hulls, making our boats virtually unsinkable. The foam is sealed behind the liner, so it will never get wet or deteriorate. The foam also acts as an insulator to keep the cold out and the warm in, as well as making it very quiet to run.
Purpose Built Design
Our Open Water boats are designed with comfort and efficiency in mind. The Bankes exclusive Reverse Tunnel Chine (RTC) hull is designed to turn spray down, keeping you dry even in the worst of conditions. The sharp V shaped bow slices through the waves and parts natural vegetation, making our boats easier to hide, and causing less damage to marshes. This purpose built design enhances tracking and cornering ability, giving you safe and predictable handling in anything from extreme shallow water to big open water. The set back, notched transom design allows us to mount the engine higher for better efficiency. Backing up to retrieve downed birds and decoys is quicker and drier than with old fashioned flat across transoms.

Located in Cornwallis, Nova Scotia, Rock Solid is a privately owned company founded by Barry O’Neil. With over forty years of experience in composites and boat building, our expertise spans manufacturing and marine industries. With specializations in fiberglass custom boat building (including large commercial fishing vessels, boat modifications, repairs, and maintenance), we also extend our skills to various products such as recycling bins, vehicle parts, and thermoforming.
